Grief is her name II

Description

This is part II of my self-portrait assignment for college's Project Methodology chair.
Part I:  Grief is her name I

In this second image I wanted to portray the present as in,the stage I am right now. The initial stage of the shock, the overwhelmingness and the denial has passed, now I find myself healing slowly day by day.

I made this portrait on the beach because I loved to swim and play in the water with Tomás and one of my main regrets is not taking the time to go to the beach with him, he would have loved it like a kid loves ice cream.
He grew up afraid of water because he had fell into the swimming pool as a puppy, he would cry and try to "save" people from the pool, pulling them out by whatever means where necessary.
It was a pain in the summer because he always went into a panic mode when someone was in the pool.
After seeing similar cases on Cesar Millan's Dog whisperer show I found myself trying to help him conquer his fear of the pool and water. It was hard, it took a hell of patience and some nasty bruises on my legs and feet from his doggy nails (not on purpose of course),he hated me for a while, but I never pushed him,I never forced him. I was just patient with him and showed him there was nothing to fear.
After that he loved me even more. It was our daily fun, to go into the pool and play with his tennis ball. He had so much fun swimming, it was easy for his bones.

I also made the photo in black and white because the mourning process is not over yet,and I don't face the camera because I'm still struggling with facing the reality.

Some days are just harder than others.
